In Germany, Held actively supports the efforts of MEHRSi to drastically cut the risk of serious injury to bikers through the addition of an ‘underun’ protection system to Armco barriers situated on high risk roads.

In the event of a collision, spring-mounted steel panels mounted beneath the Armco absorb energy from the impact to ensure that a fallen rider does not slide into the barrier uprights.

The MEHRSi system is implemented in collaboration with local road construction and maintenance departments and is supported by corporate and government sponsors, as well as the fundraising activities of individuals and groups.
