Textile care
Textile care
- Held textile materials can be washed in your washing machine (however, please use mild detergents only, no fabric softener)
- fill your washing machine no more than half-full
- IMPORTANT: Body armour (such as shoulder/elbow or special foam CE back protectors) must always be removed before starting the washing process
- avoid intensive rinsing or spin-drying
You should re-impregnate waterproof textile garments after each wash. If this is done, water will continue to pearl off the surface of the outer fabric as it does on a new garment.
Basic tips for handling with textile impregnation
Well impregnated gloves are dirt- and water-repellent. A drenched outer-shell causes a loss of heat inside. Well done impregnation protects also against cold. The outer shell comes ready impregnated from the supplier. If the impregnation loses its effect (if water doesn’t roll of anymore) you should treat the gloves with an impregnant.
- air the clothing well each time you use it, and remove any dirt with a soft brush and clean water
- the fabric must be clean and slightly damp
- impregnation has to be done when the garment is freshly washed
- ideally, you should treat your product in the openair, or in a well-ventilated room
- the impregnation effect develops best ina tumble dryer: certified maximum temperature- see care label Other options: Hair dryer: 10 - 15 minutes at a distance of 20 - 30 cmIron: 2nd temperature setting, with a cotton towel to be put under the iron
- repeat impregnation according to the numberand duration of your wet journeys
Hints to help extend life of mechanical parts
- metal zippers should be lubricated with candle wax, pencil lead or oil
- plastic zippers are maintenance-free
Washing instructions for textile gloves and gloves with membrane
- Wash the gloves by hand with mild soap
- Don’t use fabric softener or bleach
- No dry-cleaning
- To avoid residues of the soap you should wash the gloves with clear waterafterwards
- Don’t squeeze or mangle the wet glovesDry the glove exposed to air (no heating, sun or dryer)
TIP:
If only the inner lining of a membrane glove should be cleaned, you can use water with a little mild detergent without getting the outer shell (leather or fabric) wet.
